A few things that I found really helpful were: sleep in a recliner for the first week or two. I used the recliner for more than two weeks. Getting in and out of bed is needlessly painful! Have lots of pillows of various sizes available, a tv tray by the chair, wipes and tissues, lemon water and bendy straws. I was allowed to shower right away, so a step to get into the tub was helpful (I wouldn't have been able to step up into it, otherwise). I also used the mini step to step into the car, and put my feet on inside the car after surgery. Get extra large, cotton "granny" panties, and put them on after you put on the binder - then it's easy to pull them up and down without undoing the binder. Have stool softener (Lax-a-Day worked great) and Aleve (Naproxin) in your medicine cabinet. I started off with Percocet, then cut back, replacing it with Aleve or Aleve/Tylenol combo.

I had mine on January 5th too, so I'm on day 3. I'm feeling everything and it's been rough getting up out of bed and then back in. Dr. Prescribed Percocet but that's all I have and I've been trying to take 1 every 4 hours. I get really nauseas, but it's so hard to eat. How are you feeling?
